Willard Carroll Smith, Jr. (born September 25, 1968) is an American actor, producer, and rapper, who has enjoyed success in television, film, and music and achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince.

Smith is best known for his television role as a fictionalized version of himself in the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Airfrom 1990 to 1996. He has ultimately starred in numerous blockbuster films, including Bad Boys and its 2003 sequel, Independence Day, the Men in Black franchise, Ali, I, Robot, Hitch, The Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend, Hancock, Seven Pounds, and After Earth. He also received Academy Award for Best Actor nominations for his roles in Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness. Additionally, he notably voiced Oscar, the protagonist of DreamWorks' Shark Tale.
