Touchstone Pictures (formerly known as Touchstone Films) was an American film company owned by, Walt Disney Studios. founded by then-Disney CEO, Ron W. Miller. Touchstone was responsible for producing or distributing a movie with, more violent content, mature & dark themes. most of the Touchstone's releases we're either rated PG, PG-13 or R by MPAA. asides of movies from Walt Disney Pictures. Because the films produced by Disney were only children's, family, or adventure films with mild content, during the 1980s the popularity of The Walt Disney family films began to decline. The Walt Disney Company therefore Marketing strategies need to be adjusted to please more movie fans. Thus was the origin of the establishment of Touchstone Pictures.
