Pitch Perfect 3 is a 2017 American musical comedy film directed by Trish Sie and written by Kay Cannon and Mike White. It is set after the events of Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), the film is the third installment in the Pitch Perfect trilogy. It features Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Alexis Knapp, Kelly Jakle, Shelley Regner, John Michael Higgins, and Elizabeth Banks reprising their roles from previous installments, joined by John Lithgow, DJ Khaled, Ruby Rose, Matt Lanter, and Guy Burnet. The film follows the Bellas, now graduated from college, reuniting for one final performance together during an overseas USO tour.
Principal photography on the film began in January 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia, and ended in April 2017. The film was theatrically released in the United States on December 22, 2017, by Universal Pictures, and in the Philippines on January 8, 2018, by Columbia Pictures and received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics (unlike its predecessors) but grossed $185.4 million worldwide against its $45 million budget. It became the second-highest grossing musical comedy film of all time, behind its predecessor.
