Rats!
―Petey's first catch phrase
Enough about this Dog Man! It's time to stop this "Supa Cop"!
―Petey's second catch phrase, in the film.

Petey is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside his son/clone Li'l Petey) of the 2025 film Dog Man. He's the titular hero's rival who eventually learns to do the right thing by becoming attached to the clone he created, Li'l Petey.

Background[]

Official Description[]

Dog Man's arch-nemesis, Petey sees life as a competition to not only win, but completely dominate. His evil exterior, however, is merely a brittle facade hiding deep emotional trauma stemming from the fact that his father didn't care much for him.[1]

Personality[]

Petey is a malicious and despicable feline, whose ambition is to annihilate all do-gooders. He has a very high-level of arrogance and low tolerance of others around him, and only does cruel things by his own rules. Despite this, he somewhat has a sort of soft-side, even though he doesn't show it outright. At first, he didn't care about Li'l Petey after abandoning him on the streets in his pursuit of taking down Dog Man, yet after creating 80-HD, he immediately changed his mind and programmed him to track down and retrieve his son.

Physical Appearance[]

He is a tall, orange, anthropomorphic tabby cat with green eyes and a tail with a flat end. He has three whiskers on each side of his face, later two on his right side.

Trivia[]

  • The scene where Petey accidentally slams the window on his tail is reminiscent of Tom's (from Tom and Jerry) classic screams.
