Orion Mendelson is the titular main protagonist of the 2014 book Orion and the Dark by Emma Yarlett, and its DreamWorks film adaptation of the same name. He is a little boy who has a lot of phobias but the greatest is his fear of the dark. At the of the movie Orion married a woman, Sally and became a father and grandfather, Tycho.

Orion is an 11-year old kid known to be a afraid of everything that is candid. He is afraid of girls in general, being responsible for his team losing, getting the wrong answers in class. However, the one thing that he is afraid of is the dark. He always gets concerned about the dangers that may happen but never checked it. Orion is known to be scared of everything, such as girls, bees, being responsible for his team losing, and even getting a wrong answer in class. But one thing he is mostly scared of is the dark.
