Orientation Day is a computer-animated short film from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures, starring the Minions from Despicable Me.
The short was released as a part of Minion Madness and as a bonus feature on the Despicable Me Blu-ray.
Plot[]
A small crew of Minion trainees, Dave, Stuart and Bob[1] (not the same Bob minion appears in later films), enter a room excitedly after they are approved as being new staff in Gru's Lab. With the help from other senior minions, they watch an informational video about the types of things they can expect to encounter on their job as a bomb transporter. The minions are extremely excited about they see, while other minions are quite despised about the content of the video.
Then, the three minions carry bombs while they are soon encountered by two other minions, Kevin (not the same one as who appears in Despicable Me or later films as well) and his co-worker. They are on the same narrow bridge, but none of them give way, and Kevin even starts to fight with Bob until his co-worker is almost falling with their giant bomb. Kevin tries to push it back but they are both trapped at both ends of it. Seeing this, the three newbies help them after throwing away their bombs, but after that, the bombs explodes and the shake causes the giant bomb falls as well. Kevin runs away in horror with his co-worker, leaving Dave, Stuart, and Bob watching the terrible situation. The bomb explodes, nearly destroying Gru's Lab, but the three minions are still fine, though their bodies are burnt black.
