Jerry Goldsmith (February 10, 1929 – July 21, 2004) was an American composer and conductor most known for his work in film and television scoring. His most well known work is the music he composed for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Secret of NIMH, and Looney Tunes: Back in Action . He composed a 1997, Universal Pictures opening fanfare which it's first debuted in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The fanfare later was re-arranged by Brian Tyler, for the company's 100th Anniversary.

Goldsmith died from colon cancer at his home in Beverly Hills, California, on July 21, 2004, at the age of 75. He was burried at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.
