I'm a Believer is a song that appeared in Shrek and Shrek Forever After. It is sung by Smash Mouth, by Eddie Murphy (voiced by Donkey) and by Weezer. This song was originated by The Monkees.

Plot[]

Shrek[]

Donkey sings the song during Shrek and Fiona's wedding. The song was also included in the soundtrack for the movie.

Shrek Forever After[]

the song was played in the ending party at the swamp. Weezer provided a cover for that particular scene.

The original version of the song (performed by The Monkees) was previously used in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, which also stars Mike Myers as the title character.
- The Monkees' version of the song was actually going to be used for Shrek's finale, but was changed after Jeffery Katzenberg suggested that the song be updated for modern audiences.
  - Weezer covered The Monkees' version for Shrek Forever After.
EMF's cover of the song was used in some promotional material for the first film's theatrical and home video releases.
