Central Intelligence is a 2016 American action comedy film directed by Rawson M. Thurber and written by Thurber, Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen. The film stars Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart as two old high school friends who team up to save America after one of them joins the CIA in order to save the free world from a rogue agent who has an intention to sell satellite codes to terrorists. The film premiered in Los Angeles on June 10, 2016, and was theatrically released in the United States on June 17, 2016. Central Intelligence received mixed reviews, with praise going to Johnson's and Hart's performances (particularly the former's) and chemistry, but criticism going into the weak narrative. However, it was a commercial success, grossing $217 million worldwide against its $50 million budget.
