Agatha "Aggie" Gillman is the deuteragonist from the film, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. She's an anthropomorphic Kraken who a Real Estate Agent who is the mother of Ruby and Sam, the wife of Arthur, the daughter of Grandmamah and the younger sister of Brill.
Personality[]
Agatha is a well-caring and observant mother who wants nothing but the best for her family, after leaving her mother and the Kraken Kingdom after her daughter's birth in favor to move to the surface.
Agatha is fiercefully overprotective, especially to Ruby as she has listed a comically large list of anti-ocean rules - and despite Ruby's pleas of wanting to go to a prom that was on a boat, she still disagrees to let Ruby go to prom even if Ruby insists absolute safety for the prom; all simply because the prom was on a boat, which would float above water.
She also works as an Real Estate Agent in Oceanside and she’s about to launch her own development with a huge kick-off barbecue.
But after Ruby transforms into a Giant Kraken, Agatha confesses: she’s a Giant Kraken too. Giant Krakens aren’t monsters, they’re protectors!
Appearance[]
In her normal form, Agatha has aquamarine skin, purple tentacle hair styled into a top bun, and turquoise eyes. She also wears eyeshadow and lipstick, being two shades of purple. Her most distinctive physical attribute are her ears, which resemble pectoral fins. For attire, Agatha is always seen wearing business clothing: consisting of a pair of thin framed glasses, fancy golden earrings with tear drop-shaped pearls, a beige-colored checkered suit with a white button-up shirt, white socks, and dark purple heeled flats.
In her giant kraken form, Agatha has 6 tentacles (2 arms and 4 legs) with 4 fingers on each, pink glowing skin, and small spots all around her body to resemble a symmetrical design, small spiky shoulder pads and longer hair.[1]

Ruby Gillman: Agatha and Ruby have a loving mother and daughter relationship, although Agatha's incredibly protective of her daughter.

- In an early draft of the film, her name was Pearl, but when Faryn Pearl joined the film, her name was changed to Agatha.[2]
- She originally killed the Mermaid Queen Nerissa when the film was still called "Meet the Gillmans", and was known as the "Siren-slayer".[3]
- Kirsten Dunst, Hayley Atwell, Katie Holmes, Regina King, Uma Thurman, Laura Dern, Claudia Wells, Laura San Giacomo, Jane Pratt, Mary Louise Parker, Catherine McCormick, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Cheri Oteri, Kate Beckinsale, Amy Smart, Margot Robbie (turned it down because she was already committed to Barbie), Nia Long and Chloë Sevigny have been shortlisted for the role of Agatha before Toni Collette won the part.
- Fans assumed that her name was Flora (with Flo as a nickname), even though she was named Agatha since the film's announcement back in 2021.
- Some even thought that her name was changed from Agatha to Flora during its production.
- She smelling Ruby instead of a ground
- Agatha has a lot of similarities to Josie Stronghold / Jetstream from the 2005 Disney live-action movie Sky High.
- The final design of the character was inspired by Carolyn Burnham from the 1999 Academy Award winning Dreamworks film American Beauty.
