20th Century Studios (formerly 20th Century Fox) is a movie company owned by The Walt Disney Studios. with Dates on May 31, 1935. 20th Century Studios was one of the "Big Six" major American film studios for over 83 years; beginning in 1935 and ending in 2019, when it was acquired by Disney; formed from the merger of the Fox Film Corporation and Twentieth Century Pictures in 1935. In 1985, the studio was acquired by News Corporation, which was succeeded by 21st Century Fox in 2013 following the spin-off of its publishing assets. In 2019, The Walt Disney Company acquired 20th Century Fox through its merger with 21st Century Fox. Disney also now owns the rights to the studio's pre-merger film library. On January 17, 2020, Disney renamed the studio as 20th Century Studios to avoid brand confusion with the then-recently formed Fox Corporation.
